The brown seeds are found in the Eastern province of Kenya and are not edible so the best thing to do for the locals are to make beads with them.
Off-White bead - the seed from the plant from the pumpkin family but the fruit is a little longer and skinnier then the pumpkin, it is also not edible but has a part that is used in making bathing towels and the seeds used in making neck
1 inch long beads are batik bone.
Most of the pendants like cross and other animal carvings are made out of bones or ebony wood or rosewood.
