Ory's first football game marching!

Sorry - very picture heavy! Tonight was a proud moment for this mamma and former marching band member (Not of Mt. Juliet's band, but Durand's band) Yes I did get a little teary eyed watching him and then remembering all of the great times I had in the band!

Doesn't he look nice?

Pre-game

Ory showing off his new trumpet!

Big sis handing out with the band and watching the game.

Egg sack flags that I help sew. (The theme of the show is spiders)

This picture is a little blurry but I wanted you to see the awesome spider flag I helped sew. Isn't that cool?

Altered Project~

I am so excited about this altered project that I did for the Little Black Dress Kit club this month. I found this cute metal tray at Goodwill for $1.99. My original plans for this tray was to spray paint it black. When I got the new kit in the mail, I quickly changed my mind. The red tones went perfectly with one of the papers. Of course there was a touch of TEAL in the paper so I HAD to use that on the tray!!!! I brushed teal paint onto the flourishes on the tray to begin with.

Then I took the paper and cut it to size. To add more TEAL to my project I got out my sewing maching a had fun sewing on my paper.

Here is a close up of some of the sewing.

Of course I had to add flowers to it! Some of the flowers I made was with left over material that I had. Some were made with trim that came in the kit and one last one was made with linen fabric and I misted it with TEAL Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

I punched out a butterfly also from this paper and used the bling that came with the Prima letters from the kit.

I LOVE how this project turned out! Of course I used my wonder adhesive Helmar 450. Gotta love me some Helmar! If you have not used Helmar - you must!

Have a great day!

It's your world layout!

Way late on posting this, sorry!
I love this picture of my son Ory! It is even better in color! His eyes are amazing. I am really happy with how this layout turned out. I had been playing with it off and on for about a week.
I got this neat idea of using the stamp that came in the Little Black Dress kit from Glitz and make a flower out of it. I wasn't sure how it would end up turning out, but I think it turned out really neat! I cut out the images that I stamped on the Vintage Red Bookprint paper from Jenni Bowlin. Then I pinched the bottom part together to make it look like a petal and curled the ends. I glued all the pieces together with my Helmar 450 adhesive. Also glued one of the buttons that came in the kit for the center.

I made another flower out of one of the trims from the kit. The center of the sun beams is an epoxy sticker from Melody Ross from the kit. I love how the letter came out using the cardboard from the kit. I cut the letters out of the backing from the Prima packaging first from my Cricut. I then traced the letters onto the cardboard and cut those out by hand. I also used my Glimmer mist on some of the sun beams.

Hope you have a great night!

Me Layout

I decided to do a page about me. I have very few of these pages -it is always the kids or hubby. I think most scrapbookers fall into this trap.

I started out with the 7 Gypsies Coloma paper (I used the B side). After I had used my punchinella on my other layout (painted with it) I used it on this page.
In this close-up it shows a technique that I used the Cuttlebug for. I used leftover plastic packaging from some Jenni Bowlin Chipboard buttons. I used my new Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades Embossing folder and ran the plastic through the Cuttlebug. It makes such a fabulous emboss on the plastic. I wanted it to pop more so I painted the back with purple paint and then wiped some of the paint off. It left just the right amount of paint! So don't throw away your leftover packaging, you never know what you might be able to do with it and you are up-cycling!
I loved the 7 Gypsies wax seal! I melted the wax onto the center of the flower and then pressed the seal into the wax. Before I pressed the seal in the wax though I inked it with black ink which makes it stand out more. I love how it looks. I used flowers that I bought at Walmart a few years ago. The colors worked perfectly with this layout. I used Helmar 450 to glue the flowers together and glue the button onto the flower. I also used it for gluing the purple dots trim to the red lace. If you have not tried Helmar 450, you simply must! It is fabulous!!!!!!!!
I used my border punch for the top corner piece. Hope you enjoyed! Go try embossing plastic for your next layout! It rocks!

August Layout Reveal

Here is my American Beauty! (My daughter Alexis) We took some of her senior pictures while we were up in Elkhart, IN. We were driving around town checking out places that we could take her picture and we passed this business that had this awesome old truck there. I couldn't get past that I wanted to take her pictures there!

On this layout I partially cut the paper from Kaisercraft Gypsy sisters Asha then distressed the edges that I cut.

Here you can see where I took the punchinella that came in the kit and painted over it (the circle dot design). I also painted the one side of the cardboard and placed that on my paper also!

In this picture I took some old sewing pattern and made a flower with it. I placed a Melody Ross Epoxy sticker in the middle of it to make the center. I punched out a butterfly and added glass glitter to the body. For the October Afternoon stickers, I distressed them also before I placed them on the page.

Here is another butterfly that I added the glass glitter to.
Hope you enjoyed! I will try to post another layout tomorrow but I can't promise. Tomorrow night we have kit packing night at Jenni Bowlin so I will be busy all evening!
Have a great day and try to stay cool!
